Grilled Romaine Caesar Salad with Frites Extra Thin Gourmet Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Cavendish Farms Restaurant Style Frites Extra Thin Gourmet Fries
  • 2 Romaine lettuce hearts (for whole heads, just remove the outer leaves)
  • 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • Pinch of lemon zest (optional)

Directions

  1. Cut the romaine hearts in half through the stem. Then remove any brown or limp edges by cutting or peeling them off.
  2. Mix together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and Italian seasoning. Brush this on the cut side of the lettuce. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Bake Frites according to package instructions in the oven or air fryer.
  4. Using a BBQ or stove top on high heat, place the cut side of the lettuce halves down on the grill/grill pan and cook for 3-4 minutes. Flip and grill for 2-3 minutes more until just charred with some grill marks.
  5. Divide the Frites evenly into 4 portions and arrange in the center of the plates. Lay one grilled romaine half on each.
  6. Squeeze lemon juice over top of the lettuce and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. To heighten your flavour profiles, add a pinch of fresh lemon zest on top.
