Smoked Chicken Wings with Extra Thin Gourmet Frites

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs split chicken wings, tips removed
  • 6 tbsp (90 mL) melted butter, divided
  • 1 750g bag of Cavendish Farms Restaurant Style Extra Thin Gourmet Fries
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) ketchup
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) liquid smoke
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp (7 mL) each, hot and smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) granulated garlic
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) freshly cracked black pepper

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Cover a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a rack coated with cooking spray on top.
  3. In a small bowl, combine seasoning mix ingredients.
  4. In large bowl, toss chicken wings with seasoning mix to coat. Place wings on rack and drizzle with half of the butter. Bake for 15 minutes. Flip and drizzle with remaining butter. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until done and crispy.
  5. After flipping the wings, spread Cavendish Farms Restaurant Style Extra Thin Gourmet Fries in a single layer on a non-stick baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes to a light golden colour.
  6. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine ketchup with liquid smoke and mix well. Set aside
  7. Remove baking sheet from oven and sprinkle fries with blue cheese, if desired.
  8. Serve fries with wings and smoky ketchup or with your favourite ranch or dill dip.
