The company expands with the acquisition of a Potato Plant in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Grand opening of Moncton Head Office expansion, 100 Midland Drive, Dieppe

Conversion from Bunker C oil to cleaner-burning natural gas to fuel our plants eliminates the use of 22 million litres of heavy fuel oil annually.

Opening of our biogas facility in Prince Edward Island; largest of its kind in North America and
first in the potato industry to use solid waste material to produce energy.

Acquisition of the Appetizer division of Omstead Foods in Wheatley, Ontario.

Partnership with Holland College in PEI, Canada for the construction of a Food Product Development Lab (FPDL) to become “Canada’s Smartest Kitchen”! combining culinary arts with the science of food to create new and innovative food products.

Building of a renewable energy “biogas” plant in PEI, Canada that will reduce consumption of fossil fuel and greenhouse gas production.

Celebrated 25 years of successful growth & record sales of 1 BILLION POUNDS!

We were the first frozen potato processing company to switch all products to non-hydrogenated oil. This means that all Cavendish Farms products are now trans fat free.

Purchase of third plant in Jamestown, North Dakota makes Cavendish Farms the fourth largest potato processor in North America.

A second state-of-the-art potato processing facility is constructed in PEI, doubling our French fry production.

Cavendish Farms moves away from processing vegetables and fruit, to focus on frozen potatoes with a vision to become “The Potato Specialists”.

Irving purchases C.M. McLean, a PEI-based frozen vegetable and French fry producer.
