Slow Cooked Beef Stew

½ TspVegetable Oil
2 cupsSirloin Beef, cut into 1” cubes
½ pkg Simply Homestyle Hearty Red Skin Diced
1 cupTurnip, cubed
1 cupCarrots, cut in half lengthwise
1 cupCelery, chopped
3½ cupsBeef Broth
1 eachBay Leaf
1 tspThyme, chopped
¾ tspSalt
½ cupWater
¼ cupAll-Purpose Flour
10 eachSugar Snap or Snow Peas, optional
3/8 cupCorn, optional
3/8 cupGreen Peas, optional



  1. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add stew meat; cook until browned. Drain grease.
  2. In a slow-cooker, combine browned meat and all remaining ingredients except water and flour. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  3. In small bowl, combine water and flour; stir until mixture is smooth. Slowly stir flour mixture into stew. Increase heat to high. Cover; cook 15 minutes or until slightly thickened.
